Want to have a better understanding of what will be expected from you? Need guidance on whether your plan is setting you up for a top mark on the Exploration? Have you stumbled upon unfamiliar topics and need help understanding some of the mathematics you will use? (Note: I will not tell you what topic to choose, I will not tell you what to write, and I will not solve the maths in your Exploration. I can help you find suitable mathematics in your areas of interest, I can guide you to make the mathematics more sophisticated and rigourous, and I can develop your understanding of mathematical concepts using examples not in your Exploration.)

IGCSE & IB Maths Revision Courses for Small Groups ……… 30 € / person / hour

I have many years of experience in providing intensive revision courses for small groups preparing for IBDP examinations at Standard Level, in both Applications & Interpretations and Analysis & Approaches, and have experience teaching IB Higher Level as well as Cambridge IGCSE Maths 0580, International Maths 0607 & Additional Maths 0606.

15-hour courses available for groups of 3 to 5 students over three days: Start your final exam year off with confidence with a summer course, where we revise all topics from the first year and introduce certain topics from Year 2… or run through the entire syllabus and focus on exam-style questions in the final run up to mocks or final exams during your Christmas, February or Easter holidays… and come away feeling more confident at using your Graphic Display Calculator (GDC) efficiently!

12-week courses for longer-term, continual revision and exam preparation: Prepare early and develop deeper understanding of the course content and greater confidence answering exam-style questions in advance of your mock or final exam with a three-month course.​

Developing a Mathematical Mind – 45 to 60 minutes – I discuss the value of cultivating mathematical habits of mind, give LOTS of interesting examples of mathematics problems that I have presented to my students to develop specific habits, discuss the subject and what version of it we should be teaching in schools at present, and give some advice to parents as to what they can do (and should not do!) to help their children at home.

Building a Thinking Classroom – 60 minutes – I introduce the 14 aspects of a Thinking Classroom according to Peter Liljedahl’s research and give participants the opportunity to collaborate on an activity hands-on at vertical whiteboards and reflect on the experience.
